The day of
It was the perfect day for a hike. The leaves at Raven’s Rock trail were a beautiful combination of green and orange. Sam and Matt arrived with their beautiful daughter Charlie, and we began our adventure. We hiked the muddy trail for 45 minutes and had a great time doing so.
During the hike, we took advantage of the beautiful trees and stopped a few times for photos before the ceremony. I knew we were going to be on the move, so I used the GH5 for all of these shots. I’m so glad I used this camera, especially when I got this shot of Matt carrying Charlie. I was walking behind them and it looks so smooth, even thought I was shooting this handheld. After an intimate ceremony, the couple stayed at the mountain top for a portrait session that can only be described as stunning.
The moody colors, the classic fall weather, and the sun setting were all we needed to get completely swept away by this enchanting West Virginia elopement! With the help of their photographer Chelsea Hellen, they stepped to the edge of the cliff and enjoyed the view while we documented the day.
